So this warping from the tension bars happen with all CF trunks? This is good to know to keep from damaging it when someone gets one. Also I moved this to show and shine.

My seibon trunk started warping about a month after install.. This has happened to a few people that I know of.... The trunk is so light (even with a wing) that the stock tension bars put to much upward pressure on it. It started bowing the middle of my trunk up.. It got to the point where it wouldnt even shut anymore. I had to go in from the rear seat and push out to close the trunk. I lived for a while w/o the bars at all. Luckily it flattened out when I took them out. Then I got this kit. works great.
I have another thread about the trunk.. I explain my issue and another guy had this exact problem. This starts on page 2. I told him what to do and it fixed his as well. Any questions about the trunk post it in this link and Ill do my best to answer from experience.

But basically.. With a CF trunk on a lancer you have to remove the tension bars.... With them it flies up so fast it could brake the trunk.... I used to have to pop it from inside and run to the back to grab it (no key-hole). You cant take out just one either because then the trunk sits uneven because only one side is being pushed up on. (I tried it). This is the route to go with a CF trunk for sure.

Has anybody tried using the tension bars from the RS? I'm guessing that since the RS has no wing, the tension bars would be less strong. I've been trying to see if the part numbers are different between the RS and the other Evo's, but not much luck so far. Anybody know?

Doesn't any of this sketch you guys out?... Like even a little?
Carbon Fiber is stupid strong. Atleast a lot stronger than aluminum or sheet metal.
Comparison of Carbon Fiber and Steel
Material Tensile Strength (GPa) Tensile Modulus (GPa) Density (g/ccm) Specific Strength (GPa)
Standard Grade Carbon Fiber 3.5 230.0 1.75 2.00
High Tensile Steel 1.3 210.0 7.87 0.17

CF is strong in tension, the stiffness in torsion depends on the construction of the part - if you use CF together with a honeycomb metal matrix it will be very stiff in torsion too, but nobody goes through that kind of trouble. Also, Seibon uses fiberglass for their parts -only the top layer is CF (it says so on their FAQ).
