Haha indeed... it even sucks inside because the concrete floor is freezing to lie on in order to get under the car, and even with the crawler and the furnace blasting, you get cold fast. Not to mention trying to find the right angle to get at various parts, get leverage, etc... and, now to try and attempt to drill and tap out those perch bolts is weighing on my mind since I have a semi-crap mastercraft drill and no appropriate drill bits. Having the garage to work in makes me feel like I HAVE to find a way to do it myself however, since Mitsu's labor rate is like $70/hr. All in all, I'm gonna attempt it.. I can only hope that I can do it.
As far as you doing these things outside... yeah, that would suck big time. I highly doubt any of this work would be done if I had to attempt it outdoors and without the help of my buddy Frank and the combined tools of everyone involved in the storage garage this winter.
PS: I haven't heard that saying "Your car is clutch" before... I'll take it as a compliment thou! So, thanks

So, last night we went to the garage and I removed my trunk lid in order to get the Evo 8 spoiler installed. Here are a few pics from that:
Beginning:

After disconnecting the brake light:

Trunk release cable detached and hauled back through (There were a few clips which you merely pop the cable out of):

There was a sorta tricky ground wire running to the latch which is used to trigger the trunk light to come on. For that plug, you have to squeeze it from the top and bottom while pulling, but the part to squeeze is a bit far in. I used a pair of pliers to do so:

And here it is with both wires hauled back through (For the brake light cable, you'll need to pop out about 3 or so black clips holding it to the trunk lid):

Finally, with the trunk lid removed. You'll likely want a friend to help you with this so you don't drop the lid on the window or chip the corners, etc...:

And, just for good measure... I removed the stock spoiler (This is now for sale if anyone is interested):

Today, for a bit of fun, I test-fit the Evo 8 spoiler onto the trunk lid. I don't know if you can grasp it from the pictures, but in person this spoiler is HUGE!!! LOL, I never realized how big they really were until I had it mounted on the trunk lid. I think it'll look great though. Hopefully they'll paint and finish it ASAP for me and we'll get to see the final product!!

That evo spoiler just looks spankin
ok two things i want to know because i'm going to do the evo spoiler in the future
1. What are u gonna do with the break light cord when u put the trunk lid back on
2. are you going to plug that middle hole or bond it up
I just know whatever you do its gonna look suuweeet
I envy your open funds to get your mods

For the brake light wire, I'm likely just gonna route it back through where it was so I can reattach the ground wire for the trunk light.. then tape up the end and then tape it onto the trunk lid somewhere so it doesnt hang down or vibrate around. I'm gonna get a professional shop to paint it, so I assume they'll bond/refinish the middle hole, as well as the extra hole from the brake cord, etc.. Hopefully I'm gonna get it dropped off at the body shop tomorrow and have it done ASAP
As for the funds... yeah, they were meant to gain interest for a lump sum payment on my student loans.. but once I started, I began dipping a bit TOO much... now I'm hooked

Tell ya the truth, I don't know... they have a contract with Mitsubishi for doing their repair work, etc.. so, I knew they'd get the color right and all that. I'm guessing it'll be around the $300 mark. I'll probably give them a call in a few minutes to get the official estimate.
