Alrighty... little update to add on tonight. I finally got to install my Lightrikz Basic red HVAC/Clock kit. For this, I went ahead and used JTC's how-to located here. Install was pretty easy until it came time for the clock. Removing the vent panel was SCARY to say the least. Beginning to pry it off from the guage cluster side was a bit iffy because it was on there so tight that it felt as though I had missed a bolt or something. I got the nerve to finally haul really hard and it busted loose as far as the part in the trim piece where it begins to narrow. I was hauling on it, but the piece began flexing a lot in the narrowed area and I was afraid that I was going to end up breaking it in half. I finally managed to get it loose, and then continued with the instructions until everything was complete. Here's some pics of the finished install: (The pictures are a little blurry since the camera lens stays open a bit longer without the flash, and my hands are a little shaky some times
)

And, of course I had to snap a few more shots of the car:

That's all for now folks... hopefully have some nice sunshine pics up soon. The snow around here is finally melting!!!
Latez!

Thanks for the comments guys. The LANCER on the trunk is one of my favorite things about the car, so I'd definitely never get rid of that. Unfortunately this little update isn't a positive one. It's nothing big by any means, but I was up cleaning the car the other night, and I turned on the lights to have another look at the HIDs... well, it would seem that one of my HID ballasts was a lemon and has gone defective on me. It lights for a second or two then shuts off. Gonna have to get it replaced under the 1-year warranty, so hopefully I'll have that taken care of before I get the car out on the road in April. We had some wet snow and a lot of rain last night, so it's not time to get her out of storage just yet. Another rain or two to get rid of the rest of the salt should do it
lookin good.
DO NOT remove the "lancer" badge, it is one of the best features of the car and its one of those things we got over on the 04's.
however i would remove the "oz" badge in the corner

I think he'd rather keep the OZ badge and so would I as it goes with the theme of the stickers on his car... the OZ sticker on front windshield, and the sticker on his side skirts. But thats just my thought.
No big deal about the LANCER badge, wasn't trying to "dis" anyones car, that was just an opinion as I like the way the trunk looks without it, like on EVOs, obviously there are those that like the Lancer badge there. No hard feelings, didn't know how attached you were to it... Not like me, I initially liked it too, then once took a looked at it from a distance (walking to my car after work) I thought it looked too "busy" and heated that biot*h right off, especially after I saw an evo trunk.

Fact is: The trunk looks cleaner without the chrome "lancer" on it.

I definitely never took any offense to the suggestion to debadge the trunk. As we all know, debadging the trunk is a very common thing for people to do during build-ups. As pointed out, with the windshield banner, side skirts vinyl, etc.. I enjoy having a tasteful declaration of what the car is. Surprisingly, the car still gets mistaken for an Evo. I guess I can expect some more of that this summer now that I have the Evo styled VG and wing on there huh!?
Needless to say, the chrome LANCER is there to stay

light kit looks great.
while we are on the subject. I loved the lancer badges as well till I got the guts to remove them. I was much happier afterwards. Looks good either way though. car is lookin good.
