Received my HID kit today. Surprisingly, they sent me the more expensive High/Low combination bulb kit instead of the single beam one that I had ordered... so I guess that's a bonus right!?

As you can see from the pics, the high-beam halogen comes disconnected.. I'm assuming it merely hooks up to the white/black wires coming out of the plug. Frank has a HID kit for a long time, so I'll be getting him to assist me with the install. Looks pretty straightforward however. Hopefully I'll have these in tonight so I can give you guys a few more pics and a review of the product. $150 CDN is definitely better than like $300 USD if they work just as well.

nice.. a hi/lo HID kit. Those are the new one they have now....

I'm actually a bit confused on how you exactly connect those. Since, when you take apart your stock lights you'll see there's only 3 cables. A Low, High, Ground.

Just to clarify how they work for Hi/Lo... Here is the back of the plug which goes on your stock connector. The stock connector would usually plug right into your headlight housing and power your bulb which would normally contain 2 separate filaments... one for high beam, one for low beam. In this case, it will power the circuit containing the ballasts for powering the HID bulb, and at the same time power the halogen high-beam bulb. With most 9007 HID conversion kits, there is only 1 HID bulb which basically eliminates the ability to retain high beams. This is usually fine however since the HIDs are bright enough to make up for not having high beam. As for the 3 plugs mentioned, yes... one is for high beam, one for low beam, and they share the ground. This can also be seen in the first picture. The final 2 pictures illustrate what the final circuit will look like (the yellow wires out of the bulb are for powering the high-beam halogen) and point out the different bulbs:

Hopefully this helps to clarify how it works. Just a reminder, with this setup, the high-beam setting would NOT be using a HID bulb. Therefore, you'll still only have true HIDs in the low-beam setting. Since HIDs are basically just as good as high-beams, if not better, it's quite likely that the halogen bulb will barely ever shine :P

ok ok.. were the low beam wires labeled accordingly so you could know which was + and - ?
cause from the pic they are the same color to me.

The low beams are the HIDs...they are already wired up. As for the 2 yellow wires for the halogen high beam, there aren't any markings for + or -, so I'll just wire them randomly most likely. The bulb is merely completing a circuit anyhow, so I doubt it will matter. I'm assuming it will work however they are wired. I could be wrong, but either way I'll find out when I get them installed tonight (hopefully) and let you know.

Update.... just stepped out for a few minutes to get my g/f from school and I had a delivery slip in my mailbox when I got back. I went to the postal outlet and lookie lookie what I found!!

Soooo... if I get to the garage tonight, that will be going on as well. I have to give major thanks to Derek at Rexpeed for the super fast delivery, and from what I can see so far, the product is top notch!
