Underbody Neons | Anything and Everything [ALL THREADS MERGED]
He wasn't asking that question. If it's his car/cash/taste, I say let him do it.
It really depends. If you're gonna want to do a "secondary exterior color", you know, like blue for decals, maybe even strip down the letters on the trunk, paint em blue, and put em back on, I'd say do that color of underbody. However, if you're not, then get yellow.
Just a crazy idea, but, I've been wondering if this would be street legal... white on the front/sides and red in the back? Seems like that wouldn't violate the laws, and thereby make it to where it wasn't a "parkinglot only" mod.

Hey check out one of my pics I have posted. It is my yellow lancer
with a red glow kit. The pic came out alright but it looks better
in person. I have a red decal kit and my interior also has red.
I think you should get your kit to basically match your secondary colors. A lot of people told me I should buy yellow on yellow. For me thats too much yellow so I went with the red and it looks real sweet.

I agree. Secondary color... only color match if there is no secondary color.
I myself, theoretically speaking, am mulling over what color would best match my car... T-gray with a Silver secondary exterior color... however, consider that my engine bay secondary color will be red... Hmm.
by the way... this post took me all of about 6 minutes to write.... this being said, kids, don't post while semi-intoxicated.

streetlancer, i'm pretty sure the white in front and red in back wouldn't be street legal in ca anyway, i talked to my neighbor who is a cop and he said they weren't legal at all in ca, also said after market brake lights in spoilers weren't legal either, and he said the red led brake lights i have in my muffler are illegal too, also said alteza tails are illegal unless they are stock like on the lexuses, seems like california has a major stick up its *** about lights.
California has a major stick up it's *** about tuning or modifying in general.
All I know is that the main reason that alot of reason people in my area get fix-it-tickets for underbody is under the law that defines what color light is allowed to be seen. I mean, the only reason people get in trouble for using in-car neons in my area is if the bulb is plainly visibile to the driver, in which case they consider it a "distraction t the driver." Kinda like having your dome light on while driving at night, I guess.

yeah be certain the yellow is the yellow you want it to be i had a set of streetglow yellows that looked closer to a yellowish green so after i bottomed my car out and cracked a tube or two i bought a set of white which looked really sweet and they're kinda neutral so they can go w/ pretty much any car
I used to have neons underneath, but Streetglow makes **** and they cracked extremely easily...... They replaced them, but those cracked too.... They were screwed in right behind the side skirts..... I kept the ones in the front grills though
I say match your car... No sense in throwing off colors.. would your wear a yellow shirt with red shorts.. or pants.. I would hope not... So go all yellow.. I have Red 03 Oz lancer.. red Neons under my car... and red neons under neath my seats makes for a beautiful look... You can't see... the color of the car... toooo much at night... so who cares if you have yellow on yellow... and you won't see the neons during the day... DO YELLOW>>
