looks good. Personally, I don't like the altezzas. If you could do a write up on how to do the clear reflectors, that would be great!

Yeah, I called the local police station here yesterday and asked them about it and they told me it was illegal.

However, i've heard that if you keep them on and make the underkit appear normally (without distracting others .. for example, flashing them on and off), they can't do anything about it.

Whatever.. tomorrow, i'm going to see if it's actually in the rule books here that they're illegal for driving, and until I find anything that proves me wrong, i'll drive with them on.

BTW.. Does anyone know why it would even be illegal?

in california it is perfectly legal to have underbody neon. a rule state that you may have a light eminating source from anywere on the vehicle as long as 1. you cannot see the bulb 2. it is not more than 50 lumens (neon are like 30-40).

the only other stipulation is that it is not red or blue, both emergency colors and both punishable by prison (felony, its considered impersonating a police/emergency vehicle)

Ok, I got some mixed opinions from a few phone calls I made.

The Texas DPS (department of public safety) said that they are LEGAL as long as red/blue is not used in the front.

Then I called the Carrollton (the suburb I live in) Police Non-emergency line and they told me they are ILLEGAL unless used on private property.

Then a few friends of mine said that it all depends on which cop you get pulled over with. Some will want them removed, others will just ask you about them.

Whatever it is, i'm going to ask the state on why this is actually illegal.. I mean it's under the car, it's not like it's on the hood or flashing.

Well take it from me... cops+neons=tickets

I have a thunder grey Lancer with a double white neon kits under my car, along with 4 police issue strobes on each corner underneath, and police issue strobes in my headlights, grill and taillights. All I was driving with was my whites under the car on the highway and a god damn statey pulled me over and cited me for all of the neons I had installed, whether on or off!!! I dont learn from **** like that so I still drive with them on every night!!! The strobes are the most fun to play with! Especially when its some little riced-out honda who thinks hes bad *** untill u hit the strobes behind him and embarass his *** infront off the rest of the people on the street!

Well I think its a cool addition to any car, but just be careful for those damn pigs.... as a wise man once said....

I live in MD now, but I grew up near Morgantown. Dad lives in Cross lanes.

When I saw the pic. of your OZ with WV tags, I thought it might have been the one I see on base all the time.

We actually have people from WV that commute to Andrews.

yup, black light would look awesome... otherwise, go white - not too obvious, but goes with your car nice

I have a yellow OZ with a purple kit on it and it looks nice. Looks nice when i drive by white cars and see the reflection, so purple would probably look good on a white car.
