Unhappy Ghost image

So, i took off the "Lancer" lettering off the trunk. Cleaned it off real nice and then waxed it like your supposed to. Then i notice that i can still see were they were, but only when the light reflects off it a a certian angle. Anyone else notice this or did i do something wrong? If so any ideas how to correct it?

Well, that really happens, speacially if it caught lots of dust already..Just wash your car everyday and wax it.. Just like decals, it will leave a mark afterwards.... So yeah...

Yup, my car has that too. I'm taking my car to a body shop to get fixed from when I was rear ended back in Feb. and I'm going to have them do what ever it takes to fix that problem. They'll probably buff it out or wet sand and reclearcoat. I'll let you know what exactly was done to fix it.

Actually you should be able to get a good high speed orbital buffer and do it. It is basically fading from the sun that makes it show up. If you get your car detailed you can have them pay special attention to that area and it should all be gone. If you have a buffer or a friend does make sure you do it right or you can actually burn the paint and clearcoat.

It should go away eventually. I took the letters off my car at 30K miles. The ghost was there for a week and a half or so. It was gone after that. I have a silver car, btw.
