Yea. I hand out around alot of mini truckers too...lol! But a couple good friends have done it to their sport compacts too. I figured it would be something to spruce up the rear! It turns alot of heads!

Make sure u get the license plate lights or u'll get pulled over in TX.
Also, I'm pretty sure the new legislation passed in TX after Oct 07 says nothing can be done to affect the visibility of the plate numbers, which would include rotating it.

The license plate is lit up by a white neon light. I have spoke with dps and the license plate is legal the way mounted. But Texas law is starting to get strict on the front license plate. They are saying that it has to be centered unless mounted by manufacturer differently. Have a friend with an STI that had his mounted on the drivers side and was ticketed for it.

With regards to the body mods... the car is being built for show. Licence plate was to add for show points. Not for everyones liking. Everyone has their own tastes. I have received plenty of looks for why it was angled, but alot of judges like the custom work put into it.

Again I appreciate any feedback, good and bad.

argue that the evo has a plate on the side of the car and all an evo is is a AWD turbo LANCER. the plate to the side is a factory option on a specific lancer model and you can prove that fairly easily--you shouldn't have too much of an issue with that.

i have a feeling you're going to be explaining that rear plate more often than you'd like though. if it's legal i'd get it in writing for when you get stopped. i'm not a huge fan of the rear plate but it is your choice and your car... get it in writing that it's legal and you should be all set.
