Tint and Decal

I'm getting my windows tinted on wednesday, finally, and I have a parking permit decal in the rear window on the inside. Will that have to be removed or can they tint over it? I have to have the damn permit decal so I don't get towed away in the middle of the night.

i would think so. my windows are tinted, but i didnt have anything on my windows so im not too sure. i dont think the window tinters would be down for tinting over stickers and etc... but you should talk to whoever gave you the permit and tell them that you might have to take it off due to your tinting. kus i know you cant mess with your tint for like 30 days so it would be a while for you to put it back on. why dont you just put the parking permit on your windshield and always park backwards??

I always back the car in, but I'm figuring that worst case I will put the decal on the outide. It would be backwards then, the dumbass who comes around checking would probably scratch his head and *****. Thanks for the reply.

Put it on a piece of carboard or something and just lean it up against the window, so it's still there but not attached.

The window tinter will definitely scrape it off. Happened to me with a school parking permit, guy didn't even ask, just scraped off a $300 dollar permit - sucked for them when they had to buy me a new one.

I'm thinking about telling the people who issue the decal that I had to get the rear window replaced (damaged) and I need a replacement. Hopefully they will buy it and give me one for free. Thanks to all who responded!!

I'll see what the parking management company says, may just tape it to something to put back there. Gotta make sure it looks good though, don't want to just put anything in the rear window.
