I think mitsubishi has always used the 12 x 1.5 pattern.

They don't seat properly since the stock rims don't have a completely flat mounting surface. Subydude.com has a good explanation.

Should be but I would just buy new rims, fancy lugs look out of place on stock rims.

12 x 1.5 should be the size. That's what my Muteki's are and I don't see why they would change that for the 2008's. I don't know what the stock lugs are like, but the Mutekis have a conical acorn style to them. If you're just wanting to make your stock lugs look better, I would just say clean them up with some engine cleaner spray, sand them a little to get rid of the rust and then spray them up with red anodizing spray (Duplicolor Metalcast, available at Napa, PepBoys, etc) or gloss black engine paint. I have the blue anodized Mutekis and I have had to touch them up because of scratches about once every couple of years with the spray. I would just advise you to put the car up on jack stands for a weekend so that you could do all the lugs at one time and give them a couple of days to dry. After a couple of coats of anodizing spray, as long as you get the lugs clean to begin with, I'm sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between them and the Mutekis. If you don't want to clean them, get some regular replacements by McGuard (they almost never rust), or somebody like that and scuff them up with some sandpaper to give the surface a tooth for the spray to grab on to.
