Unhappy A sad day for my OZ

I was driving to my girl friend cousins house for some family party of her's on friday and ive never been there, i went through some small residential areas, not going fast at all, i was going maybe 35, 40 max through and intersection and out of nowhere, my car flies up, plunges down, scrapes hard, and i slam the brakes and pull over.

i look back at the intersection and it had a HUGE rain gutter going across the intersection, there were no signs that say DIP, no REDUCE SPEED, nothing at all, the dip is so steep, and right out of it the road is almost pointy, and once past it, theres another dip thats just as bad

well now, my whole front bumber's paint is scarped off, and my hood wont close right, after some inspecting, the right headlight isnt flush with the bumber and theres a big enough gap to run my finger through the bottom of my right headlight, my hood doesnt go down all the way, and it the front is about an inch higher, it looks like when u let the hood down, before u push it down to lock, it wont go down but it does lock

im soooo screwed, im almost at the point of crying
at least the day want a total loss tho, when we got to the party i got a lil' somthin somthin from my girl, so it kinda evens out, right?

ill post pics tomorrow

o ya, and will insurance cover any of this, i have a $500 deductible plan so if it comes out to more will they cover it?
im thinking of using this oppertunity to get a evo 7 front end instead of getting a replacent front bumber

YOur insurance will cover it, but you will have to pay the $500 up front, of course.

IT will probably be considered your fault, because they wil say that you were driving too fast for the road conditions. You will probably need to get a police report with the time/location/conditions. Play innocent and hope there was some road construction that was not posted with signs all over the place, then maybe you can get insurance to cover it as no fault without jacking your premium.

Sorry about your bad luck.

Yeah, Insurance will cover it, but that will put an accident on your record. Is your car lowered? If not, you might have a case against Cal Trans, placing them at fault and completely liable (won't even need your insurance company) but that might be a tricky one. Best of luck, and sorry to hear about that.

no, my car isnt lowered, thats a good idea tho, how can i go about making a claim against cal trans?

o and for anybody who is local, if u wanna know where it is, or wanna look out for it its next to victory/falbrook, off victory turn into woodlake, going towards ventura, so turn south, then make a right onto friar, and its the street right after the stop sign...drive sloooooow!

I work right by there, but I don't think I'll attempt it with my 2" drop. Um, I would contact Cal Trans (find them on the net if you can) and see how they respond. Take pics of the dip and the damage, and tell them (nicely) that you feel it is poorly maintained, that you feel they are responsible, and that there are no injuries but you think the should repair the vehicle.

i hit a bad *** pothole with my 17's over the summer. totally blew out my front drivers side tire. get yourself a police report and bring it down to the local station. the township paid for my new tire and rim. its worth a shot bro!

I would check out the transit because that is clearly not your fault if there was no signs.. Don't let the man stick it to you.

That sucks man - sorry to hear about that. I'm happy that the work will be done for free tho. That's great news. Hope to see some pix after the work is done. Good luck.
