just wanted to say......
i dont think "WE" are trying to be evo's. i think most of us just like the "look" of the evo. it's simple, and most importantly looks great. same goes for the wing as well. its simple, and looks great. in my opinion the stock lancer grill looks HORIBBLE (thats the only thing i truly hate about it in stock form). and the front bumper could use some help but its good. true most of the grills out there ARE labeled "evo style grill" but that dosent mean everyone is an evo wannabe. that just means thats where they got the design from, and frankly.... yes it looks a lot better than stock. many now are even requesting the "ralliart" grill, anything to get away from stock.

i do agree with you on one thing though. i HATE it when people simply add looks to a car, and automatically think they can take out any car on the street. this is the same person who drives like a jerk, and tries to race everyone and their grandma on the road. or when they put down other people and say the "kits" or "designs" they picked out suck. people who hate on other people need to work on their own damn car and not worry about others. these are the people that are haters/posers/ricers. basically people who think they are all big and bad when their car cant even back it up. so yeah i feel ya.

everyone has their own tastes, and therefore no car will be alike. if everyone's car was alike, that would be really boring.

 

I think it looks very good, my lil brother has one. Hes dying for a good body kit, ill show him this one .

I havnt got a side shot with the grill on yet. Its not a kit just the grill. Xrs- I do agree with some of what you are saying. I am not trying to be something im not I hated the look of the grill from day one so I thought i would change it up there is not other option out here. I am not trying to be a civic owner nor will I ever be. I like my car I have some time and effort into under the hood and teh outside. It will work til I get my evo (someday) til then I have my kick *** lancer.

i'd prefer keeping those ones rather than getting CF ones. it's not like i hate CF but it doesn't look good on yellow. now IMO to make it look even more cooler, just buy that ralliart badge at e-bay then stick in on the left side of the grille, might as well put a silver mitsu logo like the ones you see in the trunk. i think it would look much better that the CF ones. thats just my opinion, i don't know with everyone else here wut would they think bout it, i think it would look tight

 

hey, XRS, im not trying to put you down or anything, im just giving out an opinion on what you said.

i think you have the wrong idea when it comes to changing the exterior, i doubt anyone is trying to imitate the Evo7 so other people will think it's an Evo7 with the performance and all. Take a look at a normal Lancer and an Evo. The evo definately has a better, specifically more agressive look that really appeals to a lot of people.

It's not like people here are ricers putting Type R stickers (or Evolution in our case) on their cars.

so that's my opinion on that matter..but im not here to hijack the thread so carry on with your discussion on the grill

Ryan you know what I think. Getting the Carbon Fiber grill when you hopefully get that great deal on the carbon fiber hood will look sweet. If you could paint the outsides of the carbon fiber hood like Kontradictions did even better.

and XRS stop being a jackass. Obviously if we wanted an Evo and had the funds to get one then we would have gotten one now wouldnt we have. Also who says we are trying to look like an Evo. We are just picking up aftermarket parts for our car that we like and that are available. Dont worry no one is trying to imitate ur ugly Evo 8 front. Plus you arent driving the car so why should you care. Just stay out of Lancer threads if you are going to be ignorant with your posts. Everyone is subject to their own opinions but if you are going to come up with lame *** stuff than just shut your trap ok.

BTW: Ryan send me a PM for whenever you want to paint ur interior or if you want to maybe try to think of a time to take all of the trim and everything out. Again car looks sweet and will be sick when you get the cf hood.

First of all, as far as the exterior goes, there's only so many choices out there. The evo 7 and 8 wings fit the Lancer trunks perfectly, so why not get them? Personally, I think the aluminum spoilers look like crap. Besides, just getting the Evo wing isn't gonna make most drivers think and feel like they're driving in a powerful car. And the thread you mention, if you read maybe past the first page, you'd see that the poster saw the light when every response he got was a no. So when you accuse the members on the Lancer forum of being ricers, take a good look around at how many other members ask about badging their car like that. Third point, if a WRX owner decided to replace his stock spoiler with a larger STi-styled one, are you going to call him an STi wannabe? He probably got it just because he prefers the look of larger spoilers. Why would he get "unique" looking parts like most civics and their weirdass spoilers, when he can just attach a part that's in the family of his manufacturer? I don't think I've ever seen two civics with the same spoiler, but I guess you'd respect that because they're being unique.

 

Ya know, people can do whatever they want to their cars, its their car. Having to justify themselves to you, XRS, is not necessary. Just reading your posts, you sir make me sick. GO sell ignorance somewhere else, were all stocked up here.....

Yeah he saw he light after he realized it was retarded idea. But hes still gonna do it. And MANY other lancer owners have done this as well. Putting a gigantic wing like the EVO 8's wing on a lancer is straight up rice. Thats all there is to it. The wing on the evo 8 is huge and functional ON THE EVO. Its 100% disfunctional on a lancer because it does infact create a LARGE amount of downforce on our AWD cars. But creating that kind of downforce on a front wheel drive car does NOTHING but SLOW it down. Its RICE. plain and simple. Its just as bad as putting a giant double decker aluminum wing on it. Yes it really is. Your putting a big disfuntional wing on a front wheel drive car. Its gay and its rice. The post right before this said he should put a mitsu logo i the center of the grill. WHy? to make it look more like the evo 7. I see my logic cant penetrate the idiocy of the people who refuse to admit their mods are rice. For the rest of you who agreed with me, atleast u dont have to worry about being ridiculed by true car enthusiasts about your cars but respected instead. XRS, first off I bet your the 16 year old. Second I suggested putting a Mitsu symbol in the middle to help hide the bracing on the hood in the center of the grill section. Third, dont feel so passionate about your "cause." Your just as worthless as every other person who tries to fight a pointless battle. I will laugh my *** off if you consider yourself a true enthusiast, to me and probably 99% of the peple on here you represent yourself as a true ***. Grow up, clam down, and think before you speak.
