Custom Painting Headlights
sorry for the size of these pics, this, for some reason is as small as big as I Can go without getting that too big message, oh well, sorry guys =(, hope the idea gets across, this is a high angle view.
And finally after 3 hours work, finished, about to hit up mickey D's.
If you want to know how I did it, IM ME, or PM Me. I can walk you through it. It's fairly simple. I did this so I dont just get every other aftermarket headlight assembly everyone else gets. To be unique(the whole red ring thing around blinker). I dont know, thats just how I Am though, like to stand out from the crowd in a way, obviously. Well, hope you liked or could even see the pics. IM or PM me for more info. Thanks again guys, and sorry for taking so long =(.

I am going to leave a few helpful tips here:
-Only put in oven for 13 minutes at 275 Degrees.
-Make sure you take off all plastic pieces, the rubber piece for the main headlight, everything you can that can go back on.
-If you have eyelids, be prepared to take them off, or buy new ones, I ruined mine, need new ones now.
-When painting, do a quick light coat misting over the pieces desired to paint. Let it sit for a minute, then do regular coats over it. The real light coat makes the paint stick nicer and cleaner.
-Let sit for 20-25 minutes depending on the paint(I used duplicolor high temp 500 degree paint flat black and Ford red).
-Do only 1 nice coat, and then hold the headlight piece up at different angles in the light to see if you missed any spots, I found quite a few spots I missed and only would of seen it at certain angles in the light. I am positive I got every little piece of the assembly.
-You can pop the lenses that cover the blinker bulb out, just dont be stupid like me and leave them in the direction of overspray, I was stuck brillo padding my blinker lenses for 15 minutes getting oversprayed paint off!
-These headlights are a ***** to get back together, at least for me it was. When you are dont painting, put the pieces together but dont force it. Place back in the oven for another 13 minutes at the same temperature. Pull it out, and the glue should be loose enough for you to just force the headlight assembly back together with no problems or real force. Go all the way around, and squeeze with a towel so you dont burn your hands, to make sure no air gets in or out. Let it cool down for 5 minutes.
-Screw the assembly plug back into slot on back of assembly, put back all the pieces(the rubber headlight seal, and the 2 little elbow macaroni look-a-like things found on both corners. Plug back into your car, snap it in place, plug it all back in, and admire.
If you have any questions, contact me via AIM @ ZapcoLancer, or PM me. Thanks for checking out the post, hopefully you found it useful or can use me to make it more useful. Good luck & have fun!
