Custom Painting Headlights

Just a little FYI, tomorrow, I am going to be baking my headlights and doing some painting. I am going to be painting the headlight housing black and the ring around the blinker on the inner part of the headlight red. It should accent nice with my car's theme. But anyway, point is, I am going to be taking pictures of everything, and when I am finished, will be posting a "How to" with pictures showing each step of the way, so it's like, you can see and read how it's done. If it's a good enough tutorial, maybe it will get sticky'd so it can help anyone out there who may not want to pay a lot for new headlights, but instead, make their own, and make it look pretty damn good too.

I have read some minor stuff about painting headlights, but I would like to be the first to actually give it in depth. Check back soon for updates, just letting you guys know it's in the works!

Hope it goes alright. I've seen it done on an IS300 and it was tight - headlights, fogs, tails. Can't wait to see the end result on a Lancer.

Yah, Sorry guys, some crap went down the day I had scheduled to do the headlights. Right now, this coming Friday morning I am waking up early and doing them. I will have the results back Friday evening.

I am thinking going flat black and maybe some red around the blinker ring on the inner part of the headlight. I will take a look once I get them apart, see what I can do that's special and different. Sorry for the delay guys, but like I said, Friday is the new date.

Okay, It's Friday morning, on like 4 and a half hours sleep because some *** kept pranking my cell every 20 mins for 3 hours. It's nice out, that's a plus, and I am starting my headlights in about 30 minutes. I will be making a post later tonight with the Complete "How To". Thanks again guys for being patient, hope you find and get something useful out of this, that will save you money instead of buying 250 dollar headlights that will probably give you the same exact look. At least doing it on your own, gives you time to bond with your car, and can make you feel good about something you did to it, to make it look better. I don't know, check back later to find out!

i bought the black housing headlights more for the number and position of the lights than the black housing. but its great that you're willing to do this and then write a how to.
