You have to make a tutorial or give everyone a basic lesson in this.....

Did you remove the c pillar and then lay the matierial over the top of the original peice... OR did you some how make a mold.... PLease help to let us all know so that we can try at home....

Thanks

i considered making a mold of the piece, but i had no plan on making tons more, so i decided to go with an overlay, or laminating the piece. Laminating is actually the harder way of doing this, but with my time and expierence, making a mold wasnt a project i wanted to do. I do know people that have become sucessful with just doing overlays, but as well eventually went into making molds for higher demand pieces.

I am considering dong a tutorial, since i can never find any online myself. Everything i learned is just hands on and from reading, lots of reading. I have the nice new digital camera i got from xmas, so it will help with the high quality pix. So look forward to that and we can go from there.

Maybe you can get Rock to produce them at Road Race. He'd make a killing on them. Ever think about that?

I have already talked to Rob at RRM and he actually helped me a bit with some pointers when working on this. He wants to do the rest of the pillars, but it's just time and money. If you ever get a chance to see the RRM/RRE Evo 8, the a, b, and c pillars are all done in CF. Which were all done by Rob at RRM.

So hopefully Rob will see this and jump on it!

Kontraditions again great job on this it looks really nice... I was wondering how much it really cost you for the c pillars... Materials, setup cost, everything....

Because if they are selling carbon fiber for aproximately 25-35 a yard I would figure the total would only be around 75 bucks or so....

yeah that sounds about right, but with the full square yard i can cover more than just the c pillars. You can get 2 square yards of material, a gallon of resin and hardener and misc supplies for like $150. With that you would be able to cover all a, b, and c pillars and maybe more.

Of course, thats if you dont mess up at all and need to start over. Otherwise it's a pretty good deal if you know what you are doing, rather than paying $150 to someone for maybe a set of a pillars....
