hey i gotta question for whoever painted it, baby or kar33m, ive painted my interior pieces, and im about to go further, but after i put on 2 coats of clear coat high gloss the clear coat can still be damaged or pressed by fingerprints. what should i use to make the final layer real hard so accidental touches or slices wont affect it????

 

Be careful with that harness setup.. in a crash you'll crush your spine with the belts attached to the bottoms like that... try attaching them to the bolts where the rear seat buckles attach.

also: will the paint on the handles for the doors start chipping after a while? and when you say candy red dye what is that? where do you get it?

 

That interior looks excellent, killer color. Just curious if you had any more pics of those seats??

 

As for your clearcoat question... the more hardener you apply to the clearcoat mix, the faster and harder it will get when it cures 100%. Clearcoat usually takes a good 48 to 72 hours (air dry) to harden like 90%. It can take weeks for it to reach it's full hardness. Just be gentle with it after you paint it so it dries flawlessly. As far as the chipping goes, if u did a good job prepping and applied enough clearcoat it wont chip... period. The candy red dye is Metalcast Anodizing dye that can be found @ Autozone or any auto store that sells paint. You have to have some sort of silver or chrome base for the dye to work good.
