Wheel lock question...

I have a 2003 OZ and I've seemed to misplaced my wheel locks. (Actually I think that the Merchants Tire I took it too forgot to give them back) Anyway, I need to find a way to have th lock replaced so I can rotate my tires. Thanks guys.

umm, weld a stud onto them and back it off, maybe send the tire place a bill for that, or take it back and tell them to rotate the tires, since they still have your key

that's a possibility. How long has it been since the tire place did that work? But yeah, no use trying to break those things. I tried when we wanted to get my brother's custom rims off his totalled car (the wheel lock key burned with the car). No luck, so your best bet is to weld something to the end of the stud lock and unscrew it like that. best of luck, it wasn't worth a $1200 set of rims for me to keep trying.

It was about three months ago when they did it. I think I'll take it in there and ask if they perhaps have a key lying around that fits mine... in that case it's most likely mine.

Does anyone know if and where I might be able to reorder a wheel lock for my car?

not sure, but look for Gorilla locks. I have used them on all of my custom rims for the last 7 years. They blend in with acorn style lug nuts, are tough as nails, and use multiple key patterns so that there is less of a chance of someone else having the same key as you.

Gorillas are nice. I use em on my car, though I may change because I have mismatched lugs (long story). They're nice and have a slim profile though. At any rate, if it's a Mitsubishi lock, call the dealership. If it's aftermarket, search online or start calling local places. I found a key for my Gorillas when I lost the original. Took a good bit of looking, but I eventually came across it.

If those are the dealer equipment wheel locks, these should be the same... ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW ) or ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WD1V ). Good luck.
