spring compressor - quick question

spring compressor - quick question

ok super quick question, if ur installing eibach springs

do u need a spring compressor

and my friend wants to know if u need one, do u need a coil one or strut one

its his, hes installing them, i paid for someone to install em...

lemme know quick quesiton..

it would be very dangerous if u dont use a compressor ... u'll probably need a lot of pounds of pressure just to compress the spring and so much tension will build up that it would spring in the air

you can pick up some really cheap ones at your local Harbor Freight. If you're not going to be doing a lot of this type of thing they work fine

Be careful i broke 2 ribs by having one break on me, the spring caught me in the stomach... i'm 6ft 1 inch and 190lbs. my dad said then it struck me in the chest it lifted me up like 5-8 inches...

Those were off my 1968 mustang... i was down and out for the count for awhile

I've seen them on sale for like 30 bucks (to be bought, not rented) so it might be a worthy investment. Also, you MIGHT need an impact wrench, so maybe look into where you can rent an electric one (home depot will rent em, don't know if you canucks have that up there).
