help! ROTOR QUESTION

ok i just installed my porterfields and rrm slotted rotors.. also painted my calipers... took it for a test drive and it was fine.. then just a couple minutes ago drove around some more nd took it on a highway run.. well of a sudden im hearing a knocking noise and a little bit of high pitched squeaking (not the kind when you apply brakes) anyone have any idea what it could be? could i have tightened my lugnuts too tight that the rotors are causing friction? i know its not my pads because when i apply pressure its fine.. someone please help!!

does it make a noise while applying the brakes or just driving around at a high speed? how many miles have you put ont he brake setup so far? please explain this "knocking" noise (ie. how it sounds, does it get more frequent as you go faster, etc)

there are no sounds when i apply the brakes.. i started hearing the knock going around 30-45mph it seems like i hear the knocking/squeaking as i accelerate... it definitley sounds like its the rotors.. like when the wheels are turning it sounds like the rotor is hitting something?! barely have 20 miles on the brake setup

might be the clips...did you replace them when you changed your pads... from what your describing, i would say that the pad is getting stuck onto the rotor. Although they are floating pads and do rub a slight amount, the clips are supposed to help them stay in place so they don't jump around in your calipers..

Sounds like you're missing the clips. I agree with sykou
