Question bottoming out??

i dont know if my stock suspension is bottoming out or what but everytime i hit a decent sized pothole I hear a loud thump and it doesn't sound anything like the suspension simply compressing. It seems to happen on the front passenger side(right hand side for U.S.) only. havent' heard it on the driver side, althoughhaven't hit any significant holes on that side yet.

i'd just like to ask some U.S. Lancer owners out there if they have experienced the same thing??? I have a theory though....
there's a plastic panel sticking out 90 degrees just in front of the front tires underneath the bumper.

dont know what its for maybe mudflaps while driving in reverse???

I think that everytime i hit a pottie the plastic panel slams into the ground. the car is fairly new, stock and driven carefully.

arguments...
agreements...

My reply is don't drive so hard over potholes or at least try to avoid them. You end up screwing up your suspension, alignment, and safety.

Hmmm...I seem to have the same problem. There seems to be a squeek or a thump when I go hard over something, even when I don't seem to be going that fast. I thought I had scraped the ground effects one time so I had my passenger go out and check at a red light. He says he thinks the muffler got popped. I wonder if the eibach kit would help remedy this or hurt it even further. There'd be less ground clearence but the springs would be stiffer. I'll try to be more carefull in the meantime.

I'm sure anybody from Houston will tell you, the roads look like a warzone. The streets are all torn up mighty fierce, plus there's construction everywhere. And for what!? Sometimes the only problem I see with a lane are big orange construction buckets blocking it, and I'm thinking to myself, "Hey, I could be driving in that instead of being bumper to bumper with a pickup truck and an SUV going nowhere fast." And ya know how we fix pot holes in Houston? By riveting slippery inch thick steel plates to the road! So instead of driving into a pothole, you get launched and bottomed real hard. Arghhh!
P.S.
Anything RMR does should be covered by the warranty since they're all dealer installed, so shop away!
