Im in an RA but I believe our springs are similar... I think the ES is the odd man out...

I am going to get a set of stock EVO struts then, since I want the shorter strut body...

awesome. how are your rear struts and how long have you been dropped? i'm now looking for replacement rears. i hear the aftermarket KYB's aren't too great so i'm trying to weigh that in with stock RA rear struts.

So we could rock a combo of Evo Front Struts and RA rear struts? Have we varified that the RA's are the same, or at least bolt up the same in the rear? Good going rhyzin !

I've been on the Teins a few weeks now... I have always been leary of a lowered spring on a stock strut, but im having no problems... If an EVO front strut is similar enough, then its a no-brainer being its a shorter unit and I wouldn't have the problem of possibly bottoming out...

As far as I can tell, the RA rear struts will work on an OZ, but not on an ES, they look different... I've got a co-worker with an ES and it appears to be a smaller unit in the rear... The RA struts in the rear are mounted behind the trunk trim panels... They are almost floor level, and are mounted with two bolts through the floorpan/chassis... The EVO's mount much higher....

This would be proof that the ralliart and 02-03 OZ have the same front and rears... they share the same part number of TEIN Basic Coilovers...

Is there any way you can post a some pics of the rears? Just so I can try to compare em and see if there is an easy way to fabricate em...

yeah. i believe there are a few threads in the PART-OUT for sale forum about this. really hard to dig up if you were searching.

if you go to the TEIN website, they ship different sets of springs with different rates for the two. i don't know why and could probably not tell the difference under normal driving.

Just thought I'd bump this up from the grave, cuz I'll be trying to install (assuming the dealership has the two strut bolts I need) a good used set of Evo VIII struts on the OZ tomorrow. Thanks for that part # btw! I managed to pick these up on here for $60 shipped, so I figure anything to better than bouncing around everywhere! These should be awesome with the Ground Control sleeves and Eibach springs... Going to set it up all OEM first (friend has the spring compressor and the air compressor) and just see where we stand. I'll add picks in time...

Thx for all the beforehand research on all your parts!

Well, got the struts on sooooo much easier than expected! Simple as installing an sri. They're definitely stiffer than stock OZ, but they're NICE around the corners! The dealership didn't have the strut bolts of course, but I couldn't wait. And the camber really isn't noticeable at all anyways...but I'll still get them.

Only bad thing is that the Evo strut housings are massive and the GC sleeves won't slip over them. But I'll see about getting some used cheap Evo/Lancer springs instead.

So did anyone ever decide one way or the other if the ralliart rear struts will fit? Or even if the AGX's off the 1G has a chance?

Oh, and by the way, damn good research on all this. I wish everyone would work as hard as ya'll did. This is exellent stuff and about to be insanely helpful when the stock shocks die.
