Get the Tein H-techs. They're going to be fine for what you're looking for - a nice, moderate drop, but manageable spring rates. They shouldn't hurt your car at all. And RRM can source them (even though they don't advertise that).

About how big of a drop could i expect? You wouldnt happen to have any pictures of them on a Lancer would you? (I searched around, no luck)

Not really. They're pretty new. Tein doesn't even have pics on their site.

Drop is roughly 1" on the front and 1/2" on the back. It's going to be a nice drop, but it won't be too low. And since you're getting rims, you probably don't want too much drop (or else the wheels might rub).

========JUST FOR EXAMPLE=======

These pictures are of the Tein S-techs (from the Tein site). Drop is roughly 1.75" front and 1" rear. The H-techs would be about half of this. I don't know if the wheels are 17s or 18s, so I'm sorry if this picture doesn't help at all.

Hmm yeah, that looks nice but since im tight on money i might just wait it out. $100 for a 1" drop is a bit much for me now, is there any one in thats just as safe and in the same price range, but a slightly lower drop?

Not really. H-techs have the smallest drop that I know of. It's kind of pointless to only drop the car 5mm, you know?

+1 A one inch drop is very conservative. Dropping a car is cheap, but dropping it correctly is not. I've seen a lot of people do stupid things to cars: heating the springs to compress them (bad idea), cutting the springs (evenworse) but to really do it right, you're gonna pay about $700-$1000. I'm not going to try to sway you towards springs if you don't want springs, but you're going to spend about the same for good wheels and tires once everything is installed. I have
5Zigen super six wheels that are just a cheap, yet nice looking wheel and with tires it was about a thousand. If you want wheels and tires together, you might get a better price through TireRack or Discount Tires Direct. I have bought from both. If you're going to go up to 17inches, don't let them talk you into 205/40R17 tires. The car will REALLY look like it needs a drop. 215/45R17 are only about one or two percent larger, but make a huge difference visually. I'll probably get flamed for telling you about 17" wheels and tires, because the general consensus on these forums is that anything bigger than a 16 is rice, but I like my 17's. My car doesn't drive on a race track and with all the mods I have, it's still faster than a lot of hondas, focus, and neons. Even though I enjoy my suspension mods, I say +1 to wheels first. It's a huge step up in looks, unless you like the OZ wheels. I don't and I don't like the fact that they aren't even made by OZ, they're Enkei and they don't fit my car anyways.

+1 wheels and tires first, flame away

P.S. the wheels on that yellow OZ are 17's

I just found out exactly what i wanted to get, from a PM with the seller. I copied this from the PM:

"its eibach springs with matched ground control sleeves. "

Obviously, if you havent noticed yet, i have no idea how any of this works. So this is still a bad idea to buy those?

Yes, they're basically springs (already a bad idea) that you can compress even more (worse).

I currently have the Ground Control Coilover sleeves that I'm replacing with Tein Basics. Yes they have Eibach springs. Like I've said in another thread. If you have $250-300 to spend/waste on temporary cosemtics.... get them. But I have them and hate'em. The ride isn't great, it's bouncy, although it did handle a LITTLE better, but my 18's (which I regret buying) probably have something to do with the handling as well.

Personally, I think Ground Control makes great stuff. Only riden in Subarus with them, though. I agree with Phony that his 18s probably cause a lot of his complaints.

Personally, I'd get the GC kit. Just know going into it that you may hurt your shocks from the lowering.
