Some basic questions about suspension.
Some basic questions about suspension.
Planning to change the springs on my car and i have a good offer for $90 used, and im wondering if there is any risk of them being messed up in any way since they are used. This if for an 03 OZ Rally, and im just a bit skeptical since i've never done this before and trying to figure out if there can be anything wrong with them since they are used.
How easy is it to adjust the height of vehicle, apparently its not supposed to be too hard but exactly how is it done? Something you can do with a jack and in your garage, or something you'd have to go to a shop for?
Is there any risk of the car maybe being damaged by changing the springs and lowering it a fair bit, maybe will the turning be more difficult or damage the tires or anything? Any physical risks to the car? Exactly how much lower can i make the car without having that risk of it being damaged.
Is it really worth it for a pair of $90 aftermarket springs that are used? Will it make a good noticable but safe visual improvement?
Thanks.

^Exactly, springs rarely actually help handling, they are in my opinion a purely cosmetic modification. The secret to better handling is having a set of matched shocks and springs.
as amby and atilla said.... Springs are a bad choice on a lancer. There are no aftermarket struts to match springs for this car. For good suspension you have to go with coilovers. I agree with Amby, springs on the lancer are just for visual appearance but you will blow struts. At which time it will cost you more to replace the struts then it probably would have to begin with if you just bought coilovers..

I ordered them through these guys. http://www.jlbmotorsports.com/suspen...port-list.html
They are $700 shipped directly from Ksport. I dont think they carried lancer coilovers in stock.
