Springs install???

have any of you guys put springs on your oz? if so did you put them on yourself or did you get them put on by a bodyshop of some sort?

if a body shop did them, how much?

if you did them yourself, please explain how or just tell me if you need one of those spring squasher deals.

thanks,
biggins

There's an article that RRM wrote that explains how to install Progress springs. Do a search around the site and I am sure you'll find it.

Go to ROAD/RACE CORNER, off the main page. You'll find our guide to installing springs there. Your welcome!

I would do it myself, why you ask? Because nothing satisfies me more than stepping back and seeing what I have accomplished, and it is also a great way to learn.

The only tool you'll really need is an impact wrench to remove the top bolt from the strut. The rest of the install is pretty easy. I've seen Tein S-Tech springs installed w/o use of a spring compressor and no risk of injury.

Me and my Dad installed the Progress Springs---after installing the front it was easy to install the rear, just followed RR instructional. Just need the impact wrench, which all car freaks should have!!!

i used the road race thread and i did it myself, worked great just make sure you have all the right tools like an impact wrench, some of the bolts are a little harder than you can imagine. i broke 3 craftsman sockets trying to get one of them off

If you really want to know how much installation is, get out your yellow pages and start calling car shops, and compare prices.
