If you get the underhood bushings be sure to pickup some base bushings too, it really makes all the difference. Personally I love my Kartboy bushings, so much so I bought the tee shirt.

ok, so the poly ones are cheaper, but people seem to say that brass really pays off under the hood. So I should get the poly shifter bushings and brass under the hood kit for the best results and keeping my budget down????

will the base bushings make that much of a noticable difference? i always thought it was the under the hood bushings that got the job done?

I know it's been a while, but work and christmas got the best of my time. Anyway, I got a B&M shifter, poly base bushings, and metal under hood bushings and I have to say that this is just f**king awesome. I am just blown away by the difference in throw and overall feel. This has to be one of the best bang for the buck mods out there.

ANYWAY, I wanted to thank everyone for their input. I love these forums.

After reading a few threads about metal and poly bushings, thought I would revive this poll and see if after a year if the votes would lean towards metal..

i bought the LancerShop short shifter kit ( brass bushings ) for my car last fall and i've loved it ever since. The shifter feel is infinately better and crisper. This is one of the best mods i've gotten.

the way you keep the brass bushings from sticking is do like i did - go get some synthetic grease and put them on the mounting surfaces of the bushings that go under the hood.
