03 lancer es auto to manual

i know this has been asked before but i never found a thread not ending with easier to buy a manual ver. But i work at a carshop and we like to play around with cars. i mean really play arond engine swaps etc.. so i was wondering how possible is this conversion new ecu? new wiring harness? axels? cause i can get most parts at a decent price like the actual tranny for 250$. i am asking cause i don;t really want to sit at my computer at work reading diagrams over and over comparing auto and Manual. a list of things i need are the shifter assembly, clutch, clutch fluid bottel, the cylinders. any thing else people might want to add on. i woul appreciate the help ty.

ECU, linkage, clutch pedal, a hole in your firewall, i believe the sensor placement is different on an auto...try to get your hands on a wrecked lancer in the area and pick up most of the front end. it will save you lots of time. joe is starting the process of going from manual to auto...i'll let you know if that ever happens.

no problem. use this site to locate a wrecked lancer if you can:

http://www.car-part.com/Directory/Re...ine/USA/nj.htm

that will give you listings for scrap yards in NJ. good luck. run a search on auto/manual tranny swap. there are numerous threads that go into the more specific parts you'll need. but like i said, i full lancer would be best.

also since u are a fellow NJ resident since i need a new ecu wouldn't that f*** around with inspections cause the inspection reads the vin. and new ecu means new vin.

it's liquidlancer. he's still waiting for the new motor and trans to come in. the car is in shambles. but as far as inspection goes...i don't think that will make a difference. it's not illegal to swap transmissions.
