clutch install?
clutch install?
My clutch is starting to slip and I'm going to replace it, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money on it. Has anyone done the clutch install themselves? I'm not dumb or anything, but I've never worked on a FWD trans/clutch. I've only worked on RWD 2WD. I have tools except for a torque wrench and an air gun, but I can get my hands on them from a neighbor. Is it really hard? Should I replace the slave cylinder and throw-out bearing as well?
get all the tools you need and a partner to help. take the day off. it's about a 4-7 hour job depending on how well you know the car and how rapidly you work. it is not too tough. one peice of advise i can give you is too TAKE YOUR TIME and make sure everything goes back together properly. it's rather simple. here are the shop pics you will need. good luck.
