3rd Gear Rough Shifting
3rd Gear Rough Shifting
My 3rd gear has been getting harder and harder to shift into. I had the transmission fluid changed out (twice, actually) and it's still rough. I have a B&M short shifter and remember from the install that I had to put some lithium grease in the pivot sockets/cups. Should I just get some more and go crazy in there? Or could there be some other underlying issue? It only is rough shifting into 3rd.
Check the fluid in you master cylinder. Maybe your slave puked some fluid and now there is air in the line and even though the clutch is on the floor it might not be pushing it out all the way and making it hard to shift.
Dunno about granny shifting it but I'm pretty sure (now) it isn't a gearbox issue. I worked through all the gears yesterday sitting at a light with the clutch in and they are all smooth as silk. Only when I am at speed am I having any problems and it is very slight now. Self-fixed I guess.
I have kind of the same problem.
At the stop there is no problem. While driving sometimes it's harder to put it into a gear than usual. Same thing with downshifting. No noise.
I check the master cylinder. What should I look for? Just fluid level?
