I don't get your hatred towards the Lancer.

How old was your timing belt? You seem to have 85k on your car. The belt gets changed at 60k... So if it just snapped a couple months ago, that might not be the car's fault.
Obviously the clutch is not your fault, but it may be that whatever brand your getting just isn't of quality...

In any case, good luck if you decide to change.

I'm not hating, I love my little car. I just do not want to gamble with another mechanical failure, the clutch is just a stock OEM clutch, both were (I did not know the brand, but it came from Mitsubishi).

I'm just going to dig myself a deeper hole, considering I still owe $7900 dollars on a 4 year old car (I did the drive it free for one year, dumbest idea my 18 year old brain ever agreed to). My friend can get me out of that hole and change my $405 dollar car payment into a 335 dollar car payment, granted I have only 20 months left to pay on my Lancer....there are pros and cons either way.

Yeah, I wanted the "free for a year deal" - lucky for me that the car salesman was a scam artist and the financing people shut me down because my car was used.

At this point, I think you'd be best to move to another car. Lancers are great, but yours seems to be a consistent problem. Maybe it's not the clutch but something else in the system that's destroying them.

Besides, as I've learned, sometimes the Dark Side is more fun.

I got into a new car already, friend at the dealer got me a great steal for a 2007 Dodge Caliber STX Sports Package. With zero money down and upside down on my trade, I'm now only paying $355 a month, compared to my Lancer's monthly payment of $405. I'm happy with a different style and I got a lot for the money.
