did they change out the pilot bearing and everything when they did the clutch, because maybe it isnt the throw out bearing if it was replaced and still making the noise.

Sorry, but if the work was done at a Mitsu dealership, any other dealer "should" find out the problem and fix it. But who knows...

i got access to all data and stuff at my school, i'll take a look to see if i can find a clutch diagram on there. i'll print it out and if i can find a scanner i'll hook you up with a scan, or i'll mail it to you if it'll help. i'll check tomorrow.

Whoah. Periods let us know when to stop reading and breathe.

What made you think the TO bearing was the problem to begin with?

because it goes away whe you push the clutch in, gets louder when heat or lights are on and it grinds a little when pulling out from a stop, and i never herd of it being any other problem on here

Man I have been having the same problem with my 02 OZ. It's been getting louder recently so I took it to the Mitsubishi dealer nearest me and talk to the "specialist". He said he had never heard of this problem but he said he was sure it couldn't be the throwout bearing. He said that EVOs make a minimul amount of gear rattling noise at idle but he had never heard a regular Lancer do it. I also noticed that if you turn the A/C on and switch it to recirculate so the fans and A/C pump are all kicking on it get's REALLY loud. You guys notice this too? I have a friend that also had this problem in an Elantra so I know we aren't alone. Ofcourse they use mitsu parts so...... maybe this is the problem.
