I just recently got an 03 es for only 5g's canadian but the thing is it's an auto. I was thinken of doin a tranny swap and was wondering for those of you who have done it how is it? And are there any complications?

 

...join the club lol. i have an 03 ES too and plan to convert it to 5spd within the next few weeks. mitsu is no honda lola lot of things need to be done to convert it to stick but from what i hear people who have converted it to stick, love it. here is what i found out so far what i need to convert it to stick.

trans
ECU & wire harness
clutch assembly
pedals
linkages
center console
and flywheel

if you find out any other parts besides that please post it. i do not want to be converting my trans and realize i dont have a part.

 

I have the ecu & harness for 5 speed if you need it.

 

yea i think all the stuff you got listed is what you need but iam not a 100% on that. I hear it costs around 2000 to do the swap which wouldnt be to bad.

 

It cost me $2000 for labor and parts.

 

$2000 doesnt sound to bad did you do it for your mirage?
