all a short shifter does is make shifters shorter. I really can't think of a way that would damage anything?

That is completly new to me as well.

Untrue...they're fine. Some auto manufacturers like Scion & Lotus even offer them as a factory option.

I just installed my short shifter along with works grab knob, last night around 8pm. descriptive i noe .

Install was a breeze if you have a cutting tool!!! I had to go out a buy a dremel.
Everything goes in and out perfectly. Comes with decent instructions (black and white). I have pics on my cellphone that i will upload later but its just of the shifter instelf before install. my sister broke my mothers digi so i can't take good pics of anythign i've done so far like my cai, or shorty.

But now to give praise as of now to Works. The shifter dramaticlys cuts the throw. its so much shorter its awesome. i accidently went from 4th to 3rd by accident trying to put it into neutral lol. Plus along with the works grab knob which is only about 6oz vs the stock one which i would say 1lb. its a big difference. the knob just rest in your plam and feels so perfect in your hand as you throw your shifts.

O and as for effort of shifting, its actually not that bad. i mean you can tell the effort went up but nothign to ***** about.

Also, the placement of the new shifter make it so much more conftable to shift, it also looks 100X better then their pics in person. 1 thing i didn't like about the movement was that in 2nd gear its pretty close to the hand brake. i mean if the hand brake was about half a inch longer it would hit when you toss it into 2nd.

i give works a 90 out of 100

I am pleased.

Thanks for the input. We appreciate the honesty It does come close to the hand brake, but we haven't noticed any consequences in doing so during the testing phase. Again, it's different and takes a brief adjustment period, but the end result feels much more natural.

Alright...so I put Mine on today! And first off: the thing is crazy awesome. It feels like I'm driving a whole different car. It takes a few shifts to get used to but after that, you really get addicted. And I know everybodies talking about how it comes close to the ebrake when your in second, but I don't have any problem with it.

I've never put in a short shifter before, but honestly it really wasnt that hard. Everything worked good. The whole center consel is back together, and nothing is rattleing or loose. Everything snaps right together fine. The washers werent hard to remove either. Cut a slit in them both with the dremel cut off wheel, and then pry them off with a screwdriver.

This is one mod that I definately would reccomend. The new position this puts the shifter in, really helps with ease of use, and you feel far more "in control".

Great job WORKS! Your stickers will be on my rear side windows tomorrow!

Thanks for the reviews and additional pics. Glad to hear you guys are liking them

The WORKS Throw is essentially moving the same cables in the same direction as the original design. We're just accomplishing this with less travel at the shift knob. I wouldn't expect the dealer to provide any coverage to the WORKS shifter (that's what our Factory-Matched Warranty is for), but any alteration to the balance of your factory warranty should be a non-issue.
