Ive had 3 people tell me the same thing lately and im starting to worry. They have all said that im going to have major problems with my gearbox ie it will stop working, especially when i get my 17" superleggeras on. Is this a known problem with lancers? Mine is a Lancer GLX which is basically what you call a mirage 4 door in the states.

Should i start saving for a new gear box for the near future?

 

I can't give you any definites about long term reliability of the Lancer (not out long enough) or the Mirage's (don't own one) gearbox but the only ways that I could see big wheels would affect your car would be if A) the wheels are mounted incorrectly and you mess up the bearings or if B) the wheels you select are to wide and they rub against your fenders.
