grinding in 5th

When I shift from 4th to 5th something grinds. It almost always does it, and I am not messing up with my shifting either. It is pissing me off. I have know idea why it would do this. Does anyone have any ideas?

How new is the car?

We all experienced some grinding with a new gear box, but give it until about 1500 to 2000 miles or so to break in and this grinding seems to lessen. If you are already past that then hold out a little longer and don't do any power shifting and this might help.
