Slave cylinder swap
Slave cylinder swap
Whats up guys? I just bought a stage three clutch for a mirage and Ive been told the throwout bearing only works with 04 up which I knew at the time of buying. I was curious if its possible to swap the slave cylinder and shifting fork from the 04 up onto my 02 transmission? I would like to do this for several reasons, one being it would be easier and cheaper to replace the throwout bearing. Two, because I dont have 140 bucks to replace my current throwout bearing. I dont know how smart it would be to reuse my old one as it has 140k on it, which doesnt seem like a bright idea to reuse. I just want to know if the 02 transmission has all the same mounts as the 04 up so that I could get a slave cylinder and shift fork or if Im up $hit creek for this? Thanks to all.
What are all the parts necessary to do this and will mirage parts work cause I know the 4g93 tranny is supposed to be the exact same housing and the slave cylinders look identical and I can pick those parts up for alot cheaper.

So as you can see, with the exception of the clutch line that goes to the slave cylinder everything is compatible with parts from the 1.8L Mirage

My dealer wants 140 for an oem. I dont even care if it costs more. It saves you a ton of money in the long run but just curious since I dont have much cash. Ill probably end up putting my old one back in till I can save the money up and hope it doesnt go out
