lance clutch act?
lance clutch act?
Hey guys, iam new to the forums and have read a ton. I am getting ready to replace the stock clutch in my 2002 Lancer oz and i had a few questions about act clutches. Act site shows specs and i have decided on the xtrem and a spring 6 disk. Act says they are clutch kits but i notice no mention of slave or hydrolicks. What are the other parts I will need to replace while changing out the clutch? The flywheel is going to be refinished, anything else I may be missing?
The secound question is: Act from what i read makes a good clutch are there butter clutches for the money? Something else is that I noticed on the act site they say the clutch kits are for mit lancer oz with a 2.0L. Does that mean the clutches would not fit a 4.0L standard engine? Typo or does the 2.0L mean something else?

First off, welcome to the forums. I think you're a bit confused. The Lancer has a 2.0L SOHC 4-cylinder 4G94 engine. It is a 2.0L, not a 4.0L. I believe the ACT clutch kits should come with a clutch disc, pressure plate, clutch alignment tool and throwout bearing. You should give ACT a call or shoot them an email to verify, but ANY "clutch kit" should come with all of those components. Also, make sure that the clutch kit is for a 02-03 Lancer. The slave cylinder and throwout bearing design was different from 04-06.
my act chlutch kit had the pressure plate andclutch disc and alingnmet tool. it does not come with a trow out bearing. do you mean 6 pul for the clutch disc? if so and its a daily driver thats goaan be "fun" to drive especially if yur driving in a lot of traffic. i got the mb8-xtss setup. hihest street setup / lowest strip setup. does wonders and has a lot of clamping force for my turbo setup.

Wow thanks for the info! I was thinking about the 6 spring and a xterm plate. The car is stock at this point but it will get a turbo soon and all the good upgrades. I just wanted a clutch that could Handel the power so I wasn't replaceing it in six months again. The car is a daily driver but work is a few mins away. Should I consider a less powerfull clutch? One more thing is when the clutch gets replaced should I change the master and slave cylinder, everything I have been told is that both need to be changed with a new clutch.
