Clutch Installation
Clutch Installation
My 02 Lancer's clutch went to ****, wont go into gear or stall when letting off clutch.
What is the best way to get to the clutch? id rather not drop the tranny, is it possible to disassemble the drivers side drive shaft and get to it from that angle?
I'm rather new with mechanical work, but would rather not take it to a shop and learn myself
thanks

You have to drop the tranny. Its not bad I can do it in an hour and a half easy by myself. You will have to pull both axles even if you could do it without dropping the tranny. There just simply is not enough room to slide a transaxle out far enough to change a clutch. Word of advice is pull both torque mounts off of the transmission for more clearance to get the angle you need to drop it and dont forget to drain it before you pull those axles otherwise you will have a nice oily mess on your garage floor
