How should I launch my car to save life on my clutch and bee fast

So when I launch my car I find that I am fastest by slipping the clutch a bit and keeping the car in the proper power band.

But then I get worried about burning up the clutch and so I rather dump the clutch at a high RPM and let the tires burn out a bit to keep in the the power band.(I think this is a bit slower)

Is this the correct way of thinking, or should I just not spin the tires at all and start from out of the power band?(If I don't want to abuse the clutch)

Also I drive all sorts of format cars FF, RWF, AWD and am not sure if all these will work under the same formula.

what kind of clutch do you have? The weak point of the Evo is the Stock clutch. it is meant to slip/wear out so you dont snap a driveshaft, blow a tranny, etc. if you do a high RPM clutch drop with an aftermarket/race clutch you will likely do one of the previously mentioned. slipping is going to be the safest overall. just keep it short. obviously, the longer you slip it, the more its going to burn. another big thing is the flywheel. repeated slippage/dropping in a short duration will overheat the flywheel causing warpage. that will make it seem the clutch is worn even if it has life. be prepared, if you drive the evo 'spirited' your stock clutch isnt going to last...it was never meant to.

other than awd, i would say drop it. you dont have the same stress. think about what the car goes through when you drop it at lets say 6k and the wheels dont spin. thats alot of sudden stress. on a fwd or rwd car the wheels are gonna spin so the stress is released through the wheel spin.

some people like to just dump the clutch without slipping and spin all 4 off the line. But then again, those same people (one in particular) broke a few transmissions and transfer cases doing that so just know what can happen.

My suggestion would be to slip the clutch just a little and let it grab smoothly. It's not a hard on the drivetrain but it might result in a little more clutch wear. But replacing a clutch is cheaper than replacing a transfer case.

At the tree, push the clutch in. Gas to the floor so you can utilize the 2 step. When you see it's go time be sure to let out the clutch just enough to where it starts to pull forward. This is (Slipping the clutch). By doing this it preloads the suspension by helping the weight of the car to shift. Now it's lift off. Let the clutch out and go! Practice makes perfect.

if you slip it too much though bye bye clutch. You have to slip it just enough so that it doesn't over heat.
