I have an 02 OZ, I bought the car in need of motor mounts, was shaking bad on take off. I replaced them this morning and went for a stroll around rhe block. It takes off and shifts just fine, but theres a clunk every time it down shifts and when you put it in reverse. Any ideas on what this could be? Im leaning towards CV axles

 

why are you leaning towards the axles? if the cv joints were bad, then it would make noise while driving, or turning...check again that all the mounts are tight. it wouldn't hurt to check the fluid level.

 

It was making real quiet popping sounds when turning the day I brought it home, all the fluids are at optimal level and none of them are burnt or dirty, and I torqued the mount bolts on all 4 of the mounts 4 times over.

 

popping? you mean like binding? could you feel it, or was it just noise?
