Squeeky noise w/Defroster
Squeeky noise w/Defroster
Hey everyone,
So here's my question and problem: I keep getting this squeeking noise everytime I turn on the defroster. I have the heater on and then I put the back window to defrost and the second i push the defrost button you start to hear this squeeky noise coming from the engine on the passanger's side. I think it's something with the belt I'm not sure? Has anyone ever had this problem or any insight as to what it is? Much thanks!

Yeah, it could be your belt. Not sure why it only squeaks when you put on the rear defroster since all it does is pass a current through the window wire things. I could understand if it happened with the front defroster since it runs your AC condensor..... hmm. Does it only happen when the engine is cold? If so, then it's probably one of your belts is loose.
i had an issue where the more stuff i turned on that drew current, especially the defroster, the more i heard that same squeak . . . replaced the alternator and poof no more squeak.
