Intake or Electrical problem??!!!??? HELP

Ok i am so confused . I just bought one of those bomz racing SRI and i put it on and everything was running fine. I had to fix one of the screws when i was putting it in and i had to mount a bracket. So i had the battery still on (thinking i did'nt need to reset the ECu or anything cause it was already used to the intake).

Now here comes the bad part. I left my socket wrench next to the battery and i accidently hit it. The socket hit the positive end of the battery and grounded out by hitting the other end to the battery holder(you know the metal one that holds the battery in place). It started crackleing and burning so i smacked the wrench off of the battery. So i chilled for a second and let my self calm down. I finished the install and i put the bracket on.

I start the car up(it's manual) with my foot on the brake and i feel something shakey in the brake. It almost feels like a grinding. So i backed out of the driveway and when i put it in gear it felt really weird. I drove it up to my side driveway, and i parked it. And now here i am.

If anyone can tell me if they know ANYTHING about what is going on, let me know. Please don't post about me being stupid or anything, as that does'nt help my problem at all.

Another thing it might be is that i mounted the bracket to the engine. It is on a screw which looks like it hold some kind of grounding wire on it. This picture shows where i screwed it into. I really hope that it's the ground and not something i did when the wrench hit the battery.

PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU!!!

This is where i screwed in the bracket. I used a pic from someone else's car (because it is too late at night to take a pic). There is a little wire that goes onto the screw. It looks like it might be some sort of ground. But this person obviously did'nt have any problems with it.

ouch!!!! Here is what I would do. Go get your battery checked out first. Then if your battery is still fine. Reset your ecu. and try the car again. Make sure the battery is good though first. Just go to pep boys or whereven and they can test it for u

Sorry about your problem. I bought an intake from eBay as well. When I install it, I should disconnect the battery then to prevent a problem like this from happening??

It'd be a samrt thing to do. I always disconnect my battery if I dont anything electrical, and also if i do anyhthing near the battery or fusebox, just in case I do something stupid.

yea i did have the battery off when i put on the intake. The whole intake was already on. I was just tightening the bracket (later on that day) and i accidently slapped the wratchet.

Ok so i turned it on this morning and i watched the motor. It shook excessively when i started it. I felt like it did it again when i put it in gear.

OK, have you tried putting your original intake back on to see if the problem goes away, I know it is a longshot, but what have you got to lose.

edit: don't forget to reset the ecu.

i would but the original box is broken now. Something was wrong with it and i just decided to get a SRI instead of buying a box that would cost more.
