Fuel Inlet Restrictor where did it go??? ohh AND P0421

Yea, you may all laugh at this, becuase I know I am...

Now, when I bought the car I made sure it was there because I knew it was part f inspections in PA... Problem is... about a week ago I noticed it was missing....

Now, I picked around in the hole to see if maybe it was stuck... nope, didnt feel a thing, actually, I felt where it was sopposed to be but nothing was there...

well we all know where it went. (splash)

My problem is how do I fix the problem with out having to replace the gas tank... these things are sopposed to outlast the car, or are at least sopposed to last as long as the tanks bladder does...

Any help would be nice, Inspection doesnt come will december so i have some time...

(ohh yea, im also pulling code P0421... Catalyst Below Threshold... I saw that there was a service bullitin for it, but no recall, but i saw a thread that said it was a recall... idk)

it's fine. that's what mine looks like.

the P0421 code is your rear o2 sensor. get the code cleared and see if it comes back. your rear o2 might just be dirty...

i know tyhat P0421 is not anything to do with the gas tank...

these are 2 different problems that i have...

but I am pretty sure that there is not sopposed to be a hole with no metal tab.... i swear it was there when i bought the car, and i know every other car i owned had a tab there that would be pushed up when the fuel nosel was put it... idk....

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I'm having the same problem as well with the P0421 code. I've done some Diagnostics on Modis and Mitchell1. I've seen three possible causes, 1 being possible fuel contamination, 2 is an ECU problem in the programming (which is the recall you mentioned), and the 3rd is possible converter deteriation. I'm in the process of trying to prove that the converter is deteriorated due to the bad ECU programming originally done. I had the recall taken care of within the past year, and my car still has under 80k, so it should fall under the epa guideline for emissions warranties. Perhaps you could do the same thing as well?
