2003 Lancer...won't start.

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my 2003 Lancer OZ. It won't start. I have spark but no fuel. When I turn the key I don't hear the pump run. I've checked the relays, fuses and replaced the Walbro 255 with a new one.

The car has the following mods:

RRM Intercooled Turbo Kit.
RRM Piggy-Back ECU.
STI Coil packs.
Apexi Turbo Timer
Walbro 255 Fuel Pump

The only problem that car had before the No Start problem was: CEL light came on a week prior. I never gave it much thought as it usually happens when the plugs need to be cleaned and regapped. I haven't had a chance to plug it up to a computer yet.

Also the Turbo timer started to work erratically. It would loose and regain power when ever it so pleased. It never stopped the car from starting before though.

I'm lost. Any thoughts or suggestions. I really don't want have to take this to a dealer.

You might want to start with the coilpacks. However, something is definately up with the fuel pump because you dont hear it winding. It might be electrical?

Whoops. i should have been a little more clear. STI is short for the brand of coilpack, not coilpacks from a Subaru. However, I hooked up the stock coilpacks and still have the same problem. I am going to try removing the turbo timer now.

Yeah, if you're turbo timer was coming off and on, it sounds like a wire might be shorting. What did you find when you disconnected it?

The turbo timer had a loose wire which explained the intermittent problem. Fuel pump still has no voltage at the connector though. I checked all the fuses and swapped the relays with new ones (again) and it is still a no-go. I'm having it towed to my friend garage so he can take a look at it. I will update when we figure out what is going on.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I figured out what was wrong. Turns out a feral cat was using my gas tank as a scratching post at night. In the process it managed the scratch clean through the wiring harness. I hate living in the middle of nowhere.

Thanks for the help guys!
