2008 GTS Throttle problems

Well the first kink in the new 08 Lancer has reared its ugly head . Talked to my dealership today and the fly by wire throttle has had a few sticking and or ruff idle problems. So beware and watch your tach if u have this problem go to your dealership and get it check out. The weird thing is that its not throwing a CEL so it might have been going on and u didnt notice. Anyways just a warning to you guys, hasnt been a whole lot of cars just a few but its still something to check for .

One of the two things is that the throttle is having a hard time going back down when the clutch is pushed in two is its having a hard time ideling. I have only seen the one that was sticking not really sticking open just real slow to drop RPM back down all the way Dealership has mine wright now AND I AM NOT VERY F*CKING HAPPY ABOUT IT They just drove a brand new GTS today with 5 miles on it and they said it was doing the same thing So they said that they have called a tech something and are waiting to hear back directly from mitsu. She said that it doesnt look like it will do any damage to cars or be dangerous but I want it fixed and i want it fixed NOW.

I've been having this problem. After the car is warm the rpms are very slow to drop. In neutral, I could bring it up to 2 or 3k and it would stick there for maybe 15 seconds. It's mostly just annoying, but I was worried about burning up the clutch as the revs don't really drop between gears. The dealer has my car now so we'll see what happens. Does anybody know if this is just a problem with manual transmission cars? I would imagine that this could be pretty dangerous with a automatic.

I talked with Rob from RRM and we discussed this matter and he said that it is normal and it has something to do with emmisions and that it wouldnt damge the car. He also said that when he modded his DE that it improve this problem and it didnt hang nearly as much. So get your RRM modes .

It's normal for a CVT trans to not drop revs when it changes gear. That's the whole point of a CVT trans, to shift gears quick...

I don't think they have CVT, I'm pretty sure they're talking about a 5-speed at least for show time's GTS.

maybe this is done on purpose to hold your rpms up while shifting to help you keep it where the power is? (if you're driving it a little harder) does it do it when ur just cruisin or taking it easy on throttle/shifts?

I have a CVT and I have not seen this issue. Is this only happening with the manual transmissions, or with all of them?

CVT owner wouldnt be able to tell anyways two reasons
1. Automatics never go into nuetral
2. Your CVT holds the RPM up anyways

I took my car in and they logged it directly to mitsu's tech and they said it isnt throwing any codes but if u guys have this problem take your cars in so mitsu will get more cases logged and take a better look at it. Rock said it was normal on newer cars and most likely is just the nature of the beast but i still would like mitsu to take a better look at it.
