RRM intercooler

I've been looking around and couldnt find much about intercoolers. Forgive me if i havent looked enough. K, my question is this...an intercooler keeps things cool right...is one necessary if you planning for a turbo and many other mods on a lancer (NOS maybe also). Is the one on RRM's site a lot better then stock (i would think so) but does it help performance a lot?

Well if by stock you mean the non-existant intercooler, yes. The intercooler for boost say above...the 6'ish range becomes necessary to keep the intake charge cool to avoid detonation.

You might be thinking the radiator? You only need an intercooler for turbo and if you will be running the turbo hard, get the intercooler, to keep it cool.

Well as long as I'm not working, working on my car, being with my girlfriend and hanging with my club, I'll be here answering as many questions as I can. I learn stuff by doing this, and I want to know as much as I can for my car!

Between the bumper and the engine and hopefully connected to the compressor side of the turbo and the throttle body.

Satrona: The US lancer STOCK does NOT have an intercooler. The reason is there is no need for one due to the fact it is not turbocharged. Only turbocharged/Supercharged cars benefit from an Intercooler. So if you plan to turbo your lancer then you will benefit from an intercooler. The intercooler can be placed right below your grill the RRM kit has the hook up check the link to my car and you can see what it looks like.
