if you have the nav. You should be able to set it up.. I did it with mine. mine opens all doors when I grab the handle and if I use the remote it only opens the driver's side onless I hit it again.. then it would open all of them... if you don't have the nav. i'm not sure if/how u would do it.

It says in the manual if you don't have NAV then you need to go to the dealership to get it customized.

If you don't have the Navigation system, then you shouldn't have the FAST key entry system...unless I'm wrong that's why it's called the Nav and Tech package...you get them both. So if looks like you should just be able to do it that way.

That's just a package. You don't have to have the Sun&Sound package to get the RF system, for example.

Are you sure? Because at the dealership I went to you couldn't get any of that stuff without getting the package it came in. Since I wanted a sunroof, I had to get the sun and sound package. If I wanted the FAST key system, I would have had to get that package. Unless they were just dicking me over.

That's just what was on the lot, though, right?

You know you can order a Lancer with whatever parts you want, right? You just have to wait for them to build it.

It's chivalry, but good move on opening the door for her.

I don't think so...because mine was "custom built". I told them what I wanted, and then they searched around for a dealership that had one. They didn't mention anything about making seperate options from the package sets. And the booklet they gave me about the lancer has all the options listed, and the Nav and FAST key are only available in the Nav and Tech package. But maybe they just didn't want to take the time to do it right. I don't know.

"Custom Built" Does not mean you tell us what you want and we call other dealerships for it. Custom built means you go to the dealer and say look I want This car, This color, with these specific options and then give them a down payment and your car is made to your options at the factory then shipped to your dealer. Also somewhere on this forum is another thread where a guy found that you can get specific options w/o them being in packages.(He even posted a link) There is even a guy on these forums who has an ES that is loaded up like a GTS. Also you can buy a base model and then have the dealer install whatever specifc options you want. For Example you Can have the NAV w/o the FAST key, however I beleive that you MUST have the NAV to have the FAST key because of the way it is controlled and how you activate/deactivate what the key does.

If your dealer told you that you cant have a NAV w/o ordering the Tech package with the FAST key then they lied and you need to find a better dealer, one who will cater to exactly what you want.

The point here is yet AGAIN Black is right, lol you CAN get specific options w/o having to order an entire package....and thats my Rant for the day. (That entire thing was off topic....)

Well having one custom built does mean they search the other dealers for that exact option and they tell you what they find, as in it might have everything except for one detail. If you don't want that, then they have one built for you exactly the way you want it. why would mitsu waste time, and have you waiting longer for one to be built when the dealership in the next town over has exactly what you want sitting on the lot? But yeah when you build them online, most of the packages require you to have some other option, or don't allow you to get certain other options.
