RPM's staying high too long
damn am also having the same trouble we gotta get this fix its annoying pulling up next to somebody at the light when your car revving mad high and got people thinking you about to do a burnout when the light change and pull off made hard LOL
yeah ive had that problem when i first got the ES. now im at 15K and i rarely have that throttle rise or hang at stop lights. HERES THE DEAL...what i found to be efective - i was doin some research on factory intake mods for our car..and i came up with taking off the platic Air tunel for the intake, for some reason it made my car idle much better and drive much smother than before...at 15k KM's and taking off the air tunel seemed to be the trick for me at a leastt...Tell me wut you guys think.....

Its normal
I had my bumper being re-painted due to some chips under warranty, anyways to the real news.
The tech printed me off the TSB for this issue and apparently its normal. This is the TSB word for word:
Slow return to idle- 2008-on Lancer w/ manual trans. Customers with a "spirited" driving style may notice a slight delay in the engine rpm returning to idle when they come to a stop. The ECM is controlling the idle speed similar to what a dash pot does on a vehicle with a carb. This should prevent damage to the cat. converter due to the normal mixture enrichment associated with higher rpm driving. The time it takes for the idle speed to stabilize is based on the engine speed when the clutch is depressed, The higher the engine speed, the longer the delay. This is a normal characteristic of the drive train and is limited to vehicles with a manual transmission. The condition will not be noticed during normal driving. Claims should not be submitted for diagnosing this condition.
So i guess there we have it. We drive with the rpms too high I guess...
Usually I don't exceed 4500 rpm when driving normally but I guess thats not normal. Oh well.

let me tell you something, if it gets people in to accidents or kills someone, i bet they will be playing a different tune on that "bullsh!t flute"
its an answer for , to lazy to issues a new reflash.
lol just my speculation though, who knows, does anyone think its problematic to the point of being a bit dangerous.
I must admit in my early days driving a car, i am sure that will cause me to grind a gear or two or stall.
ahhh the days of learning to drive stick

i posted in another thread, here's my experience:
I know this has been posted before, but wanted to let you guys know my dealer is replacing the throttle body to solve this high idle rpm issue. they said it's a known problem in the 2008's now.
if you are having this problem, I would let your dealer know about it, and have the throttle body replaced.
I'll let you know how it goes, should happen this week.
btw, I asked dealer about reflash, he said nothing has come up from mitsu saying to do this...

Samething happens to me in my GTS, can't stand it because I use to drive a 95 honda civic couppe with an H22, and when you downshifted you didn't need to use the brakes as much. With my lancer I've had a few encounters where I almost plowed into the back of another car on the highway because the car doesn't seem to slow down as you gear down.

Thats a good thing, your not supposed to downshift to slow down, thats why cars have breaks for. Theirs a whole thread about that anyways.
if it doesn't slow down that means you can pick right back up to speed. So that is a good thing
