I hear a rattle in the rear passenger area when I crank up my music. I think it's the subwoofer. Anyone have the same problem and got it fixed? Would a dynamat do just fine?

Definitely have a rattle. Thought it was coming from the under carriage, but I now suspect that it could be coming from where they did the recall C pillar driver side sash.

Had multiple problems with FAST Key "losing" my key and my keys have both stopped working (car is only 8 months old...).

Also have had the cranking issue many (5+) times, and not just in cold weather.

And definitely agree with the terrible snow performance of the stock tires.

So far I still don't regret my purchase. Other than the fact that if the Ralliart had been out in 08 I'd definitely have grabbed one of those...

Oh, and the MMCS (navigation system) does not remember what volume you set "beeps" to. It resets itself to obnoxiously loud (I prefer off) after about 3 car starts. Really, really irritating. And just today the system randomly shut off, showed the tri-diamond, and then came back on with a totally bogus position and the system was going nuts giving me bad directions. A restart of the car at a stop light fixed the position issue.

Sounds like you need to hit the dealership. I've never heard anyone else with this problem.

When I use the remote control to open the car I need to be relatively close to it. Are you experiencing the same thing or do I just need a new battery.

How close? I personally don't feel like the stock remote has a very strong range. But if you're noticing a significant loss in range, I'd try the battery first.

Would not being able to copy MP3s from a CD onto your MMCS HDD count? I mean, that affects EVERY car equiped with the MMCS/navi, and had I known that before buying the car, it MIGHT have changed my mind about the S&S package...

That is not a problem. We're talking about things the car is SUPPOSED to do that DO NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY. Not things you don't like about the car.

Very well. That makes sense. It's not a "problem" if it's "By Design"

However, it seems a good portion of us MT owners are experiencing finicky 1st & 2nd gears...

This is true. I've been paying attention to see how widespread it is. I'm not yet ready to call it an official "big deal," but it is something of a concern. Hopefully it starts to tail off and not increase...

Imagine this I pick up my new gts on Jan 8 drive it for 2 days, it snowed pretty hard on the 3rd day and as i was turning into a parking lot at 30km the car slides into the curb and boom!
Rack&Pinion,Bent suspension, damaged mags front&rear left. $4000 later i get the car back and another $600 for winter tires because the dunlop are seriously dangerous which why the dealer didnt tell me in the first place relly pissd me off. I highly suggest anyone still taking a chance running on those dunlops CHANGE them. What the hell is Mitsubishi thinking selling a car with these kinda of tires stock anywhere there is snow especially in Canada?

p.s is it normal on the drivers side window interior that the rubber strip that lays against the window (as is on the outer side and all the other windows) is missing? it just looks like theres a gap between the window and the door panel.

did you expect the dunlop to be winter tires ? espacially in montreal winter's? your the idiot . Those tires are all season for countries that don't get any snow . Oh and leaving your ride on 18's isn't too smart either ......

first of all i didn't expect that they were winter tires at all but i also didn't expect them to be like ice skates. The winter tires and rims i ordered were only arriving by weeks end so i assumed the tires would be fine enough to get me through the week.

p.s calling me an idiot seems a little harsh considering there have been at least 3 others from the same dealer who have had similar accidents plus for a first time owner of a car with 18's (last 3 rides were suvs) its not something i'm aware off and why didn't the dealer warn me?

well at least next year its mandatory to have snow tires on in Quebec! Keep people, thinking all seasons will get them through the winter, off the road. Also SUV's don't mean better traction at all like people think, first they are heavier, second the 4WD is only good getting you out of slippery situations, not taking corners or stopping. A sad misconception about SUV's.

First off if you have a new car, never driven in the snow, hmmm I would have gone real slow to see the threshold of the vehicle/tires. I went real slow when it was snowing and found they were bad "snow tires" So i just drove slow, and viola made it through the winter no problem.

ON TOPIC NOW,

For the rattle when you crank up the bass, I found the plastic moulding over the trunk just behind the back seat head rests. When you hold it down near the edges it seems to go away. I already have dynamat in my trunk, so that doesn't fix it. But thinking of jamming something in the edges at the back there to stop it.

You can add the suspension squeaking when going over speed bumps. I hear it from the rear suspension and especially when it's cold. I'm sure that I've heard a lot of people complain about this.
