help..melted ecu connector..now what
i was sodering my SAFC and touched the soddering gun to the plug while it was unplugged and melted it. so now it wont fit back up into the ECU . theres no parts around me in junkyards and the dealer wants to sell me the whole ECU harness. and i bet that would cost alotta money. can i just pull out the wire from the melted connector and plug them into a new unmelted connector if i could find someone to sell me one? my next question is does anyone wanna part with one ??
I'm not sure what it looks like, but i do know a little about electronics.
Depending on how many wires there are...You could buy connectors & pull out all the connectors & rewire/crimp them.
This would be a major pain in the ***, but it could save you some money.
Here are some colored ones lol:

On that site it would cost you $1.50 per 4 wires, if you do this make sure you don't get them mixed up.
You don't want to fry your ECU.

grab an exacto knife and carefully shave it down to fit again. it may end up being a little loose after this though, so you'll want to make sure to wrap it up with some electrical tape to hold it in place.
it melted down into the front of it so the holes where the wire is at are covered up on some of them too cause i had the harness unplugged. and what connectors would i need from that site? i have a 5 speed 2003 ES. thanks. oh yea its the 2nd plug next to the driver side its a longer one.

i tried taking pics but my camera is too blurry to see all the holes and see whats goin on.. but like the whole side is melted and then the first few sets of holes on that side. ill post the pic if you want but you cant see to well. if you want me to post a pic you have to tell me how to cause i dont know and i dont want to creat a website for just one pic

In reality your only option is to grab some sharp tools - exacto knife, pick set, etc. and re-shape the melted connector to fit back in. Because to replace that piece means to acquire an entire engine harness just for the ECU connector.
