Cant remove steering wheel

I'm trying to install my new Evo 8 Momo steering wheel but I can't even break the hex bolt loose for my original wheel. I tried brute strength, breaker bars, a vice grip, a hammer but that bolt just won't budge no matter what I do. I'm getting so desperate that I'm about to just pay a shop to do it. To anyone who's done this before, how did you remove that infernal hex bolt? I know it's a pretty simple install but I think must have torqued that thing to only the Hulk can break it loose

I used giant hex that was T shaped. Then I put a big wrench on it (closed side) and twisted it. I hope you get the imagery

Well the best I've done was my 8mm hex w/ the 10mm wrench as a breaker bar on one end. It didn't even budge, so I'm thinking I really need an impact gun but that means I'll have to get a shop to do it. I don't want to run the risk of breaking something by forcing it or worse, stripping the hex bolt inside.

Yeah, before you start to strip it...go to a shop and drop 'um a five'r for the simple task.

It may have loctite. Have you tried putting a flame to the bolt?

You can't pull the steering wheel out until you get the bolt out.

^^I tried it with wd40, no go. What's loctite? and how do I get a flame in there? blowtorch? lol sorry if it sounds n00bish. The bolt is pretty deep in there under the plastic cover, and in no way exposed, meaning the only thing that can access it is my 8mm allen wrench.

Thanks for the illustrations. I'll have another crack at it this weekend. Then I'll post pics of my broken ratchet
